Will ULEZ expand even further?

Will ULEZ expand even further? Where does it end? Right now, prior to the 2023 expansion, the ULEZ includes all areas within the North and South Circular roads — as it has done since it was last expanded in October 2021. As of 29 August 2023, the ULEZ will grow to include all London boroughs.

Where does the money from ULEZ go?

All money received from the ULEZ will be reinvested into improving the transport network and making London's air cleaner. The annual T-Charge income is £3.4m. As the T-Charge is combined with the Congestion Charge, TfL cannot separate out the enforcement income generated from non-payment of the T-Charge.

What if I live in the extended ULEZ zone?

Pay to drive by using the TfL website, or set up Auto Pay and your charges will be paid automatically. This includes residents of the ULEZ. However, you don't need to pay the ULEZ charge on a particular day if your non-compliant vehicle is parked inside the zone and you don't drive.

What percentage of cars in London are not ULEZ compliant?

As of November 2022, TfL estimated the proportion of compliant vehicles within the whole of Greater London stood at 90.5%, up from 88.5% in May 2022. Outer London currently has the lowest proportion of ULEZ-compliant vehicles, with just 85% estimated to be meeting the standards as of January 2023.

Do I pay ULEZ if my car is parked?

Even if you make a short trip inside the zone using a vehicle that doesn't meet the ULEZ emissions standards, you need to pay the £12.50 daily charge. This includes residents of the ULEZ. However, you don't need to pay the ULEZ charge on a particular day if your vehicle is parked inside the zone and you don't drive it.

Will ULEZ expand to Heathrow?
