Will diesel trucks be replaced by electric?

Will diesel trucks be replaced by electric? And not until fuel cell trucks and zero carbon hydrogen refueling networks are in place. Electric trucks cannot now replace all diesel trucks due to their limited range. This is true, in practice, even in many local urban routes. Nor is it likely to change much with new battery technologies.

What will replace diesel?

Hydrogen. Hydrogen is a potentially emissions-free alternative fuel that can be produced from domestic resources for use in fuel cell vehicles.

Will diesel be around in 20 years?

Diesel engines in passenger cars will not fade away until 2040. The IC engines will also phase out only after 2040, Elmar Degenhart said adding that it will be difficult to imagine commercial vehicles without diesel engines.

How much longer will diesel engines be around?

But the end is in sight, as the government has declared that sales of petrol and diesel cars will end in 2035. Some car industry observers think this is ambitious, but either way, in a few years years, there won't be many diesel cars on sale. They will survive beyond that, but by 2050 they could well be a rarity.
