Why does someone not wearing a seatbelt in a car fly forward when the car stop suddenly?
Why does someone not wearing a seatbelt in a car fly forward when the car stop suddenly? Your head (and body) continue to move at the same speed to hit the stopped car. Your inertia causes the forward motion. Without a seatbelt to provide a retarding force, you continue to move forward according to Newton's First Law.
