Why does my Disney band keep vibrating? If you are getting closer to the correct door, your MagicBand+ will vibrate and light up green. If you are getting further away, it'll turn red. The closer you get to your bounty, the quicker your band will vibrate. If you walk up to a door and your band turns purple, you've found your bounty.
Are MagicBands worth it?
It's not entirely necessary. Although MagicBands can make your park experience a touch (or tap) easier and can provide some unique experiences, you can function just fine in the park without one. You can still enter the park by scanning a physical ticket or using your Disney app on a mobile phone, for example.

Do MagicBands go bad?
They run off of a small battery inside the band. Disney says the batteries are designed to last for 2 years. I have read of batteries lasting for up to five years. Since a Disney Magic Band is just a link to your My Disney Experience account, it can be used for many trips until the battery no longer works.
