Why do I have vertigo after traveling? Flying does two things that are relevant to dizziness-- it may induce motion sickness, and it may stimulate the ear through pressure changes. There is a small literature about alternobaric vertigo. In small planes, dizziness may come from either or both mechanisms.
When should you worry about vertigo?
You should see your GP if you have persistent signs of vertigo or it keeps coming back. Your GP will ask about your symptoms and can carry out a simple examination to help determine some types of vertigo. They may also refer you for further tests.
