Why do I feel like I'm on a roller coaster in bed? It's simply your mind and body settling down for the night before you actually are sleeping. Sometimes during this 'slowing down' period our bodies get jolted awake by that feeling you describe. It's happened to me many times, it feels ( to me) like I slipped on something.
