Why are there so few MagicBands? Emily, you are right in saying that there aren't many options available for MagicBands at the moment. There has been a recent impact due to industry-wide supply chain issues, and even though the teams at Disney are working hard to improve the selection, the options currently feel limited.
Are MagicBands complimentary?

It is perfectly acceptable to reuse an old MagicBand on your next trip. The official word from Walt Disney World is that the battery life of a band is expected to be about 2 years. However, I personally have older ones that are still going strong! So, bring your MagicBands and try it!
Should I get my kid a MagicBand?
Does my toddler need a MagicBand? If your toddler is under three they do not need a ticket and therefore do not need a MagicBand. You can use your phone. Create a Magic Mobile pass within the My Disney Experience app. As long as you're using your phone to only scan in YOURSELF (meaning not you AND the other members of your party), then it should be fine. It might be slower than using a MagicBand, but it still works.
