Which country has hydrogen-powered train? China's state railway company has unveiled “Ningdong”, the “world's most powerful” hydrogen-powered locomotive. According to China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC), the new engine can run for up to 190 hours and takes two hours to refuel its 270kg capacity of liquefied hydrogen.


Can trains run on hydrogen?

Hydrogen fuel cell trains can run on hydrogen with just water and heat being produced as a by-product. These trains are a good alternative to diesel powered locomotives where railway lines are not powered.
