Where is Spike the elephant? In 2018, in accordance with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums' Species Survival Plan, Spike and Rani were reunited. From my perspective, this is the most exciting part of the story, for Spike and Rani now live at the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington, D.C. — just six miles down the road from my house.
