Where is Junction 5 on the M8?

Where is Junction 5 on the M8? Shotts Interchange is junction 5 of the M8. In this area (from about half a mile east of junction 5 to two miles west of it) the M8 is essentially an online upgrade of the previous A8, which was a 1930s new build (see A8/History).

Where is Junction 30 on the M8?

Craigton Interchange, junction 30 (formerly junction 11) of the M8, connects to M898 and lies towards the western end of the motorway.

Why is there no M7?

There is no M7 because there has never been a need to replace the A7 with a motorway. There was an idea in the 1990s to build a new toll road linking Edinburgh and the A74 (M), along the lines of the A702, and the idea was floated that this could take the M7 number.
