Where can I see my digital Railcard?
Where can I see my digital Railcard? To view your Railcard in the app, you'll need to first log in to your account with the same email address you purchased with. After logging in, navigate to the Account tab and tap on Your Railcards to bring up the list of Railcards you've purchased. Then tap on Download Railcard to download it to your device.
Do I need to download my Railcard?
After ordering your digital Railcard you will be sent an email which contains a download code. You will use this download code to add your digital Railcard on your phone or device.
Is Trainline Railcard digital?
You can now buy the following digital Railcards with us and store them directly in your Trainline app. Age-based Railcards are great for students, young professionals and seniors. Railcards are great for friends, couples and family members.
Can someone else use my Railcard?
The Railcard is for your use only, and provides discounts only on tickets bought for your own use.

Do you have to have a Railcard at the time of booking?
It's perfectly acceptable to buy the tickets online first and buy the railcard later - just as long as you have it when boarding the train. All I have to say is that you must have the railcard with you when you travel as the rail ticket without the railcard will then be invalid.
Can I add my Railcard to my contactless card?
You cannot. As of November 2022, contactless (bank cards or NFC devices) support only extends to a pay as you go model for a single adult fare with daily and weekly cap. For railcard discounts, student/young persons discounts, travelcards, season tickets, etc., a registered Oyster card is required.
Can I put a physical Railcard on my phone?
Unfortunately you can only have one version of your Railcard – either plastic or digital.
Do digital railcards have photos?
If you have selected 'Digital' under 'Choose the type of Railcard you would like', you will be asked to provide a passport style photo.
Can I add digital Railcard to Oyster?
Yes, digital equivalents of the accepted railcards (I.e. not Network, Two Together or Family & Friends) can be added to Oyster cards; obviously you will need to have your phone fully functioning for it to be valid.
What to do if I forget my Railcard?
If you forget your Railcard you will either be required to buy a new ticket or you may on certain services be liable for a Penalty Fare. However, a train company will normally allow you to claim back this extra expense on the first occasion in each year where this happens.

Customers will be able to store their digital railcards on up to two smartphones. In cases where there are two railcard holders, they can both store the railcard on their devices. The app will have a holographic logo in the design, which moves as the customer holds their smartphone and prevents the use of screenshots.
Can you get a physical copy of a digital Railcard?
You can get your Railcard in a digital format to be stored in the National Rail Railcard app on your phone or tablet, or as a physical card. You can use your Railcard to buy tickets online, at a ticket office, from a ticket machine, and over the phone.
How do I show my Railcard on my phone?
If you have already bought a digital Railcard, you should have received a 'digital Railcard Download code' on both the purchase confirmation page and by email. Once you've got this code, go to the Railcard app, tap on the '+' button in the top left of the screen and enter your code.
How do I take a picture with my digital Railcard?
Please go to Manage my Railcard on the website homepage to log in to your account. Once logged in, on the top right of your account summary page, please click on your 'Menu Profile' and select 'Personal Details'. You will be given the option to update or change your personal details.
How do I add my Trainline Railcard to Apple wallet?
- On your iPhone, open the Wallet app.
- Tap the Add button .
- Tap Travel Card to add a new travel card or tap Previous Card to add a travel card that you've previously added to the Wallet app.
