Where are dogs allowed in Fort Wilderness? Pet-Friendly Policy Pets are not permitted in tents and pop-up campers. Guests with pet privileges may take their dogs to play in the off-leash Waggin' Trails Dog Park or walk the many on-leash trails.


Can you visit Fort Wilderness without staying there?

Fort Wilderness is such a nice place to stay on DIsney property! First off its cheaper than most other disney resorts and if you have fur babies its the only one you can take them. They have alot of cool amenities, they have an awesome sing along with chip and dale and a disney movie every night.

There is also a pony area where younger children can enjoy a pony ride for a minimal cost. There is however no petting zoo.


Can I take my dog on a Disney cruise?

Disney Cruise Line does not offer pet accommodations on the ships or nearby the ports to house your pets while you're sailing. Can you see fireworks from Fort Wilderness?

An easy way to see some of the Magic Kingdom fireworks is to head for the Fort Wilderness beach. They will pipe in the music each night and although it isn't a clear view, as you have the old Discovery Island between you and the park, you can still see quite a bit above the tree line.


Can you walk barefoot at Disney?

It might be uncomfortable to wear wet shoes at the Disney Parks, especially with the rain in swampy Florida. However, it's against the Disney dress code to go barefoot at the Theme Parks. We recommend bringing spare flip flops, Crocs, or sandals to change into for water rides or rainy days!
