What town is Little Venice in Italy? Chioggia, Italy is a charming coastal town that's known as “Little Venice”. It's one of the most beautiful places in Italy that you need to visit if you're traveling to Venice. Located on the southern side of the Venetian Lagoon and not too far from the “City of Canals”, Chioggia is the perfect day trip from Venice.


How to get around Venice cheaply?

The vaporetti is the most popular and cheapest mode of public transportation in Venice. These water buses travel up and down the islands near the Grand Canal. Most boarding stops, Hellovenezia/ACTV offices, newsstands, and certain bars, stores, and tobacconists with the ACTV sign, sell tickets for the vaporetti.


Where to start in Little Venice?

Our Little Venice walk begins at The Paddington Basin, which is located a short walk from Paddington Station. This is a newly gentrified area that has a lot of office blocks and apartment buildings. A local landmark are the two bridges, known as the Fan Bridge and the Rolling Bridge.

The two main areas to avoid in Venice I suggest are:
  • Castello neighbourhood eastern side as it's quite out of reach.
  • Santa Croce neighbourhood around the Santa Lucia railway station where some tourists have been victim of theft.
