It is perfectly acceptable to reuse an old MagicBand on your next trip. The official word from Walt Disney World is that the battery life of a band is expected to be about 2 years. However, I personally have older ones that are still going strong! So, bring your MagicBands and try it!

They cannot be transferred because they are linked to an individual. Someone can wear a band that does not belong to them, but they would be using up the FP+s of the person to whom the band is assigned.
Can old MagicBands be reactivated?
Under all of your MagicBands you are going to see the option to Activate/Deactivate depending on the status and the option to Report Lost. If your MagicBand is currently deactivated, you'll just select the Activate button and it will be good to go.
