What is the point of Disney MagicBands?


What is the point of Disney MagicBands? MagicBands connect you to all the vacation choices you made on the My Disney Experience mobile app so you can travel lighter, enter the parks (with valid admission and a theme park reservation), unlock your Disney Resort hotel room and make purchases.


Can my 2 year old wear a MagicBand?

Your child under age 3 does not have to wear the Magic Band that Disney has sent for them. In fact, the band is likely to only open the door of your Walt Disney World Resort room and do nothing else.


Will my 4 year old MagicBand still work?

Typically the battery in a MagicBand will only last for around two years. If you decide to link your theme park tickets to an older MagicBand and find out that the battery is not working upon entrance to the theme parks, you can utilize your My Disney Experience.


Are MagicBands worth it 2023?

If you stay at the Disney hotel often or visit the parks regularly — for example, if you're a Magic Key or Annual Pass holder — a MagicBand might be worth it. Families with young children also might find MagicBands convenient.


Does Disney track you with MagicBands?

A: MagicBand+ devices are not GPS-based and do not enable collection of continuous location signals. However, we may be able to detect the location of Guests who choose to use or wear MagicBand or MagicBand+ products while visiting the Walt Disney World Resort and certain other locations.


Do you get a MagicBand for free?

You can use your phone. Create a Magic Mobile pass within the My Disney Experience app. As long as you're using your phone to only scan in YOURSELF (meaning not you AND the other members of your party), then it should be fine. It might be slower than using a MagicBand, but it still works.
