What is the new rule to enter Japan? All entrants will no longer be required to submit either a negative test certificate from a test taken within 72 hours prior to departure or a vaccination certificate of 3 doses.

  • Firearms (pistols, etc.), ammunition (bullets) thereof, and pistol parts;
  • Explosives (dynamite, gunpowder, etc.) ;


Can you drink the water in Japan?

Yes, drinking water from taps in Japan is safe. For environmental reasons, try to use a refillable water bottle rather than buying bottled water in Japan. Metro train stations have public water fountains, but otherwise these can be hard to find (this is the land of vending machines after all).


Do I need to be vaccinated to go to Japan?

Both Japanese and foreigners who do not obtain valid vaccination certificates will be required to obtain certificate of testing for COVID-19 (proving negative) within 72 hours prior to departure.
