What is the difference between TDY and tad? Temporary duty (TDY) is when a service member is temporarily stationed at one or more locations away from their permanent duty station (PDS). It can also be referred to as temporary change of station (TCS) or temporary additional duty (TAD).


Can you go TDY without a GTC?

IAW DoD Mandate, all travelers (Military and Civilian) are required to have a GTC.

What is considered official travel? Any travel segment that is directly between the PDS/TDY, TDY/TDY, TDY/PDS, or PDS/PDS (for PCS travel) locations is considered official travel.
