What happens to implants on a plane? Is it safe to fly in an aeroplane with my breast implants? You may have heard about breast implants exploding at high altitudes – this is just a myth! It is completely safe to fly not too long after breast enlargement surgery with silicone breast implants.


Can I travel with breast implants?

Usually, a patient is advised to avoid travel for at least two weeks after breast augmentation. If you have a trip scheduled, you should consult with your breast implant plastic surgeon.


Do breast implants show up in airport security?

The breast implants will not be visible to the TSA agent. Travelers with breast prosthesis should inform the TSA agent about their prothesis before proceeding into the scanner; they may go through additional security screening.
