What happens to a beach after a storm?

What happens to a beach after a storm? The loss of sand causes the beach to become narrower and lower in elevation (Figure 1). Storm waves carry the sand offshore, depositing and storing the sediment in large sandbars. In weeks and months following the storm, the sand is returned to the beach by calm-weather waves.

What happens to a beach during a storm?

Storm waves erode the beach and dunes and transfer sand offshore; some of the sand is temporarily stored in offshore bars or on the shoreface and some is transported onto the shelf and deposited in relatively deep water where it is permanently lost from the littoral system.

Why is the beach so tiring?

This is one of the not-so-great reasons you feel so tired after being in the sun by the ocean all day. Being warm and sweating can make you dehydrated. Dehydration can increase your sense of fatigue or tiredness. It's important to drink lots of water and stay hydrated.
