What does Leap Card work for?


What does Leap Card work for? TFI Leap Card is a re-usable smartcard that enables you to pay for travel with most public transport operators. Valid operators include Dublin Bus, Go-Ahead Ireland, DART and Commuter Rail, Luas and Bus Éireann, along with other commercial bus operators.


How do I get my money back from my Leap Card?

Simply log-in to your online account, select the 'Refund or Replace' option and follow the process. If your card is lost or stolen and has not been registered, you cannot apply for a replacement/refund.


Can you use Leap Card outside Dublin?

The Leap Card can be used for rail travel between stations within the 'Short Hop Zone'. This Zone includes all stations in the Dublin area from Kilcoole to Balbriggan and Commuter Stations from Dublin City Centre to Kilcock and from Dublin Heuston to Sallins and Naas. The Leap Card also works in the Cork Commuter area.


Can you pay cash on Dublin Bus?

Paying with cash: An exact fare system is operated by Dublin Bus and only coins (not notes) are accepted. No change is given. Prepaid tickets: You can also pay your fare with a prepaid ticket. Magnetic prepaid tickets must be inserted into the bus validator when boarding.


How long does it take to get a Leap Card?

What age is the leap card for?

Child Leap Card 16-18 can be used to pay for travel by anyone who is 16 to 18 years old, up to their 19th birthday.

Leap Cards can expire based on the card profile expiry date i.e. in the case of Child, Young Adult, Student and Child 16-18 Cards.

On all Public Service Obligation (PSO) city and town services and commuter & rural services operated by Bus Éireann, Adult Leap single fares are up to 30% cheaper than cash single fares.


Is there a weekly limit on a Leap Card?

The Weekly cap (Mon – Sun) adds up the credit used each day and may be reached before the Daily cap towards the end of the week. In these cases the amount deducted from your card will stop at the Weekly cap (Mon – Sun) value. This is normal and all subsequent travel is free until the end of the week (Monday 4:29am).


Can I put my Leap Card on my phone?
