What animals run free at Whipsnade?


What animals run free at Whipsnade? Assistance dogs are not currently permitted inside Whipsnade Zoo because we have free-roaming animals such as mara, wallabies, Chinese water deer and muntjac around our Zoo. They use all of the Zoo and therefore we are not able to offer routes for assistance dogs at present.


Can you do Whipsnade Zoo in a day?

ZSL Whipsnade zoo is HUGE and makes for a roaring day out! The zoo is in Dunstable in Bedfordshire but you will easily spend the whole day here, so it is definitely worth the one hour journey to get here. Try to arrive as early as you can to make the most of it.


What roams free at Whipsnade?

Look out for our free-roaming wallabies and maras as they hop around the Zoo. You might spot them among the daffodils - they love to rest there. Other top places to see them are near the penguins and running in the trees between our yaks and elephant enclosure.
