What animals live on Theodore Roosevelt Island? There are a few large mammals (like deer and foxes) that live on the island for all or part of the year. Many, many birds either visit the island year round (like woodpeckers, herons, and ducks) or stop in on their way between wintering and summering grounds (like warblers). There are a few snakes on the island.


Is Theodore Roosevelt National Park worth it?

I had low expectations for this park but it now lists up decently high on the national parks I've gone to. The rolling hills with prairie grass are very pretty. The bison, prairie dogs, and turkeys all make the place special. It is not crowded at all making it such a peaceful place to be.
