Should I stay in Girona or Barcelona? Barcelona is more touristy than Girona and is known for its landmarks designed by Antoni Gaudí, its wild nightlife, and its urban beaches. It is also well known for Basilica Sagrada Familia. Girona is famous for its ancient ruins, colorful old town, grand cathedral, and impressive local cuisine.
