Is Toronto like New York or Chicago? Geographically speaking, Toronto is much more similar to Chicago with the lakefront, population size and weather. Culturally speaking, I think Toronto is more similar to New York as they are both major finance hubs, more ethnically and culturally diverse, have expensive real estate and somewhat dressier people.
