Is there trout in Little River? The Little River runs through Townsend, and later meets up with the Tennessee River deeper into the park. In this river, you'll find an assortment of trout -rainbow, brown, and brook – as well as bass and other fish.


Can you fish in Little River?

The Little River system is among the largest and most varied watersheds in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Within its bounds one can find everything from roadside fishing for some of the Park's largest brown trout, to tiny backcountry streams choked with rhododendrons and native brookies.


Are you allowed to fish in the River Avon?

Fishing in the Avon and Heathcote Rivers is allowed although a no fishing zone in the Avon River exists: between the Armagh Street Bridge and Barbadoes Street Bridge.
