Is NYCT and MTA different? The MTA owns and operates NYCT, which itself operates NYCT Bus and NYCT Subway (branded MTA New York City Bus and MTA New York City Subway). All buses are operated by MTA NYCT. There are local buses, SBS buses, and express buses.
