Is Italo part of Interrail? Interrail is not valid on Italo. Almost all Trenitalia intercity trains require reservations. Trenitalia accepts Interrail on all trains with one exception, the Milan – Paris Frecciarossa trains.


Do British people use InterRail or Eurail?

Not sure if this is a wind-up, but anyway: interrail is for people resident in Europe, eg EU, Ukraine, Russia, Turkey, UK, Switzerland. Eurail for those resident outside Europe. INterRail for ALL who live in countries that have railways accepting this pass-thats also Turkey.

We would advise allowing for around 50-100 euros per day, do you have to spend this exact amount every day? No. Different factors will come into play, for example, one of the days you may want to do a tour that costs around 15-20 euros, but you still need to allow money for eating, public transport etc.

The Italo bullet trains are operated by the private NTV (Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori) company, whereas the other train brands like Frecciarossa, Frecciabianca, Intercity, among others, are run by the state-owned Trenitalia.

You do have to pay an additional fee to travel on a night train (the amount depends on the type of sleeping accommodation you choose), but this is usually cheaper than staying in a hostel or hotel. You'll also maximise your time by travelling while you sleep.


What if you miss a train in Italy?

If you miss your train, simply approach the ticket counter, or Biglietteria, present your original ticket, and ask about your options. The representative will be able to advise you based on your individual ticket.

Is Italo or Trenitalia better?

Like I mentioned above, Italo is usually cheaper than Trenitalia but because the cabins on lower-class tickets aren't the most comfortable, I'll usually consider Italo only for trains that are less than 2 or 3 hours long unless the Comfort ticket class is cheaper than Trenitalia.


Is Renfe included in Interrail?

Trains in Spain are not bookable via interrail.eu, but Interrail is valid in trains of RENFE (except AVLO and EVO). You can call RENFE call center and buy via phone the reservation and collect them at ticket machines in Spain.
