Is it worth visiting Girona?

Is it worth visiting Girona? If you have extra time in Barcelona, then Girona is 100% worth visiting. Out of all the day trip options from Barcelona, Girona is hands down my favorite. The city oozes character and medieval vibes. It's beyond picturesque.

Is Tarragona or Girona better?

That is a question to which there is no easy answer! Both are well worth a visit. Tarragona has excellent Roman ruins whilst Girona has a lovely old town to wander around and city walls from which there are excellent views. You can reach both by train, Girona is quicker if you get the fast AVE train.

Why is Tarragona famous?

Tarragona shines with its Roman architecture, interwoven with beaches and a fascinating culinary scene. While Barcelona – less than 100 km to the southwest – often takes the spotlight when it comes to tourist draws, this quaint port city has a lot more to offer than the famous coastal metropolis.

Is Sitges or Tarragona better?

You can make your trip even more special by including these 2 cities. Tarragona is much more interesting as a town to visit on the way to Valencia. Sitges has a few sights, but it's mostly a beach town and I would assume it would be packed in July, as are all beach resorts in Spain.

Is Girona Spain a walkable city?

Walking the old city walls of Girona is a must-do on your exploration around the city. From the top of the walls, you can see gorgeous panoramic views of the city, the terracotta rooftops — and, in the distance, the Pyrenees Mountains and the surrounding countryside.
