Is it safe to fly after a biopsy related pneumothorax? Conclusions. This study shows that air travel after biopsy-related pneumothorax can occur safely before radiographic resolution of pneumothorax and as soon as 24 hours after PTNB.


Can you fly if you had a pneumothorax?

Patients with a current closed pneumothorax should not travel on commercial flights. Patients may be able to fly 6 weeks after a definitive surgical intervention and resolution of the pneumothorax. Careful medical assessment is required beforehand.
