Is a DTS voucher and authorization the same thing? You must file a voucher or local voucher to receive reimbursement for expenses you incurred and paid the allowances you earned while on official travel. DTS vouchers originate from an authorization, while DTS local vouchers are for official travel that has already occurred in your local area.
What is a travel authorization number?
A Travel Authorization Number (T-Number) is required for those employees where a local rule applies and for all non-employee travel. It is needed for all travel involving an overnight stay or the purchase of an air, rail, or bus ticket.
How do I know if my DTS voucher is approved?
Check document status by logging in to DTS. Go to Official Travel vouchers or authorization, and then look in the Sort by Status column. Or, go to the digital signature page within the document. If you can't access to DTS, contact your Defense Travel Administrator (DTA) to check the status of your document.
Can you use DTS for personal flights?
TMO (or DTS) can only book you to the official duty location(s). The use of government fares to/from a “leave” location is prohibited!
How many travel days are authorized for TDY?
Two days of travel are authorized. The traveler performs duty on the day of arrival at the TDY point.
