How much does an angel flight cost? There is absolutely NO charge for the services provided by Angel Flight East. Volunteer pilots use their own aircraft and take on all costs of the flight including fuel, landing fees, and other expenses. What type of flights does Angel Flight East do?

How much does Angels Flight cost? A ride on the Angels Flight costs $1 one way, but if you have a Metro TAP Card, you'll get a discount of $0.50 (you can find out all about the Metro and taking public transit in our LA transportation guide).

Since opening in 1901, Angels Flight has become a historical landmark. The railway transports passengers on a short ride between Hill Street and Grand Avenue on Bunker Hill. Visitors can ride the world's shortest railway every day from 6:45 AM to 10 PM, including weekends and holidays.

Why is it called Angels Flight?

The railway became officially known as Angel's Flight in 1912 after Eddy sold the railway to the Funding Company of California. The words “Angel's Flight” had always been painted atop the Hill Street Arch, and the new owners renamed it accordingly.


Do pilot families fly free?
