How long is the monorail from contemporary to Magic Kingdom? How long does it take to get to the Magic Kingdom by monorail? Disney's Contemporary Resort - about 20 minutes. Even though Disney's Contemporary Resort is the closest hotel to Magic Kingdom, the monorail has to make a full run from this point. Consider walking to the Magic Kingdom, it takes less than 10 minutes.
Where is the walking path from contemporary to Magic Kingdom?
Start in between Bay Lake Tower and the Contemporary Resort. Walk towards the driving entrance, you may see Space Mountain off to your right in the distance! Soon you'll find a small security tent (we couldn't film here). Continue walking towards the bus station at Magic Kingdom and the front entrance!
Is the monorail free from Epcot to Magic Kingdom?
Yes. All Guests have complimentary access to our network of monorails, buses and boats. If you would like to visit multiple parks, enjoy a nice dinner at one of the Disney Resort hotels or shop at Disney Springs, you can leave your car parked in the theme park lot and use our transportation network.

Most of the time the monorail is faster. Unless you catch the boat just as it is ready to leave. We have stayed here a few times the monorail is the easy way to get there with no delays.
Does the monorail run during lightning?
The monorail however does NOT shut during lightning so the closure would have been unrelated and coincidental. The monorail does stop running during lightning storms.
Can you get on the monorail without going into EPCOT?
This is because each theme park monorail station is located just outside the park's main entrance. In other words, you won't need to enter Epcot or the Magic Kingdom in order to get on.
Can you just ride the monorail at Disney?
Yes, absolutely! You are welcome to board the Disney monorail at any stop and ride as long as you like. Of course, we recommend taking a look at the resorts along the monorail line to enjoy some extra Disney exploring.
Can Magic Kingdom be done in one day?
There's too much in the park to easily do in a single day. It's probably more of a one-and-a-half or two-day park. That said, this is a one day itinerary post, and there are a few approaches you can take to have one very good nearly perfect day at Magic Kingdom.
How many days is enough for Magic Kingdom?
The Magic Kingdom theme park alone is one of the most popular theme parks and our suggestion would be to plan two full days to really see it all!
What time are fireworks at Magic Kingdom?
Magic Kingdom Fireworks are at 9pm on most nights. If there is a special event like Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party the fireworks may be earlier, or may not be scheduled for regular guests visiting that day.
