How long is the hike to the Devil's kettle? The hike to Devil's Kettle falls is one of the more strenuous hikes of the waterfalls along the North Shore. It's roughly one mile each way and that includes a lot of stairs.
Why is it called Kettle Falls?
The name of the town originated from the nearby falls on the Upper Columbia River. The falls, plummeted nearly 50 feet carving out “kettles” in the quartzite rock below. More historic photos can be seen on the Washington Rural Heritage website.
