How do you get to the top of Mount Nebo? North Approach This trail begins on the Nebo Scenic Byway at Monument Trailhead and approaches the northernmost, highest peak from the north. Easy to follow, it ascends 3,000+ feet to the summit in only 5 miles and offers excellent views along the way.
Is the Nebo Loop free?
No passes or entrance fees are required to enter the Nebo Loop. However, some areas, such as many campgrounds, do require passes. Check with the US Forest Service when planning your trip for updates on seasonal conditions, such as wildfires, early snow, etc.
How long is the walk up Mount Nebo?
The distance (8-9 miles) and elevation gain wouldn't be too terrible, except the elevation gain seems to come all at once in two short sections, making this a thigh buster. The second of these steep sections being up a rocky ridge-line. Though only class 3, the final ridge-line offers nice exposure and views.
Where does the Nebo Loop start and end?
Closest Town: The north end is about one mile south of Payson, Utah. The south end is about five miles east of Nephi, Utah.
