Have The Little Mermaid rooms been refurbished? Joshua, you are correct. The rooms in the Trinidad section of the resort have been recently renovated and are now themed to the Little Mermaid. I was able to tour one of these rooms since a friend was staying there and I was very impressed by the re-theming of this space.

It's a pretty good trek. It is a very scenic walk but if you have small children or someone that can not walk far distances, a stroller or wheel chair would be my recommendation. Thankfully we had a scooter already on order for my mom. Give yourselves at least 7-10 minutes to walk from your room to the bus or café.
