Does every person need a MagicBand? Though the technology has been available in Walt Disney World for ten years, and Disneyland adopted the system in 2022, you can still use your smartphone or ticket system to navigate the parks. MagicBands are a convenient add-on purchase that is completely optional.


Can you reuse a MagicBand?

Already have a MagicBand+ or MagicBand from a previous visit? You can reuse your current MagicBand+ or MagicBand. Depending on how much time has passed, battery health may limit your ability to receive Disney PhotoPass attraction videos and select attraction photos with MagicBand.


Are MagicBands only for hotel guests?

Guests staying off property can purchase Magic Bands at the Walt Disney World Resort upon arrival or at shopDisney. These bands have many of the same perks where you can link your park ticket and account to the band to use it for admission, Genie+ reservations and more.


Can I use my Apple Watch to unlock my door at Disney World?

While it can't unlock your room, your Apple Watch can be used to access your ticket through Disney MagicMobile service!


Are Disney MagicBands worth it?

If you do not plan to use Genie+, DAS or take many PhotoPass photos, you probably do not need a MagicBand at Disneyland. If you want to play games and see the band light up with entertainment, as well as use it for Lightning Lanes and PhotoPass, then it may be worth it.


Can I use a card instead of MagicBand?

For guests who decide not to use MagicBands, you can ask for a Key to the World Card either when you check-in to your resort or go to Guest Services before entering your first park. Each guest will have their own card, and these cards are totally free. Cards feature a variety of designs.


Can I use my Iphone instead of a MagicBand?

You can use your phone. Create a Magic Mobile pass within the My Disney Experience app. As long as you're using your phone to only scan in YOURSELF (meaning not you AND the other members of your party), then it should be fine. It might be slower than using a MagicBand, but it still works.
