What not to wear to a water park?

You'll be going down water slides, body surfing waves in wave pools, and possibly chasing your young children around the kiddie areas. For this reason, avoid wearing flimsy bikinis. This helps prevent any accidental flashing incidents or the possibility of losing your bikini top or bottom on a slide or in a pool area.


What should I bring to the World Waterpark?

We suggest you avoid swimwear with buckles, zippers or any exposed metal, as these are often not allowed. While it might seem like a suitable option, a lot of water parks don't allow wet suits, so it really is important to check before you visit to save a wasted trip if you haven't got an alternative.


Can I bring a backpack into Volcano Bay?

All bags, backpacks, purses, packages and items are subject to X-ray and/or additional inspection prior to entering CityWalk or the Theme Park(s). Suitcases and bags with wheels are prohibited. We recommend you leave unnecessary articles in your car and secure valuables in your trunk.


Does Universal Waterpark provide towels?

Yes, but you have to pay for them ($6 as of 2023). So take your own to avoid having to rent Volcano Bay towels. Hotels don't want you to take their room towels to the water park, so I highly recommend traveling with thin linen towels. I talk more about these in my packing post.

It's best to wear a swimsuit or swim trunks to a waterpark. You can also wear a cover-up or shorts and a t-shirt over your swimsuit for added comfort.


Does Universal Studios provide towels?

Bring a towel If you forgot your towel, you can rent a towel from one of the three concierge stations in the park. Your hotel may not want you to bring one of their towels, even if you are staying at a Universal Hotel. If you do rent a cabana then the cabana will come equipped with towels.


Can I wear a shirt at the waterpark?

Yes. Most water parks like Six Flags Hurricane Harbor do allow people to wear t-shirts and shorts.
