Do you need an IFR flight plan in Class G? Technically, we probably shouldn't have done it per Navy regulations, but it was legal per the FAA as long as we observed the speed limit below 10k feet. A pilot can file an IFR flight plan in Class G airspace or to fly into, out of, through, or within Class G airspace. But, it is not required.
