Do Magic Key holders need reservations? To enter a Disneyland Resort theme park, each Magic Key holder is required to have both a theme park reservation and Magic Key pass valid for admission to the same park on the same date they plan to visit.

Each Passholder must follow the Disneyland® Resort procedures to have an acceptable personal photo associated with their Pass for identification purposes, and a Pass must be used by the same person on any and all park visits and benefit redemptions with the Pass.


Why did Disneyland stop selling Magic Key?

Disneyland killed its original decades-old annual pass program during the COVID-19 pandemic and unveiled the new Magic Key replacement in August 2021. Within a few months, the Magic Key tiers began selling out. The class action lawsuit was filed in November 2021.

On the calendar used by Disneyland Resort Magic Key holders, the ?? no entry symbol is used to indicate the reservations for that date have run out. And the Magic Key calendar uses the \ slash to indicate that a date is permanently blocked for the selected level of Magic Key pass.


Do Magic Key holders get a hotel discount?

Magic Key holders are usually offered discounts throughout the year that average 20% to 25% off hotel stays. The current discounts for 2023 include: Save up to 25% Sunday through Thursday nights from August 1st through September 30th.


Do Disneyland reservations sell out?

Because the number of park reservations is limited, they can occasionally run out. If you have found that the date you wish to visit no longer has reservations available, it's still worth checking the theme park reservation availability calendar often. You never know when other Guests may need to change their plans.
