Do I need an eTA if I am a Canadian citizen?
Do I need an eTA if I am a Canadian citizen? No. Canadian citizens, including dual citizens, cannot apply for an eTA to enter Canada. You will need a valid Canadian passport to board your flight to Canada.
Who are qualified for eTA?
You are eligible to apply for an eTA if you meet 3 requirements:
- you've held a Canadian visitor visa (temporary resident visa) in the past 10 years or currently hold a valid United States nonimmigrant visa.
- you're coming to Canada for a short visit, business or tourist activity (normally for stays of up to 6 months)
How many times can I visit Canada in one year?
Multiple entry visitor visas permit the holder to travel to Canada for six months at a time as many times as they want, as long as the visa remains valid. They can be valid for up to 10 years, but the exact validity period is at the discretion of the visa officer issuing it.
