Can you walk into Good Harbor Beach? Parking is expensive so park in town on 127 and walk with a backpack to the beach to save the $25 daily fee on busy summer weekends. Going at low tide, you get a good 1 1/2 mile walk in. You can also walk to Salt Island when it's very low tide. Incredibly beautiful and easy, flat sand to walk on.

Both dry weather surface water samples collected from the eastern portion of Good Harbor Creek contained enterococci above WQS. Like the Marina and Loma Drive Outfall sample, total and human bacteroides results did not identify a significant concentration of human-derived bacteria.

The bacteria can be contracted by swimming in coastal waters and by eating shellfish or raw oysters. Severe cases of Vibrio vulnificus can lead to necrotizing fasciitis, which can result in amputations or death.
