Can you use used MagicBands? Yes. If you have a MagicBand+, MagicBand or card that you like, and it is in working condition, you can continue to use it when you return to Walt Disney World Resort. If you have multiple MagicBands or cards, you can manage which ones are active in the MagicBands & Cards section of My Profile.
Can you replace the battery in a MagicBand?
Is the battery in my MagicBand+ replaceable? A: No, but you do not need to replace the battery in your MagicBand+ because it includes a rechargeable battery and 6-inch USB charging cable with the purchase of the product.
Do old MagicBands still work at Disneyland?
Yes, you may use older MagicBands provided the battery still works for these features: park entry, photo linking, room charges (with Disney Resorts Collection hotels only), and opening your hotel door. There are no instructions on how to change the battery as the units were intended to last about 24 months.
Are MagicBands being phased out?
MagicBand+, on the other hand, was introduced in 2022 and is sold side by side with the MagicBand 2 rather than replacing it. While it does feel as though MagicBand 2 will be phased out soon, they are currently still available for purchase on shopDisney.com.
Will a 4 year old MagicBand work?
My 4 and 2 year old are currently wearing magic bangs and love them. My 4 year old runs to open the door to the room and the 2 year old “checks in” to every ride and park entrance. For $10/$20, it's worth it.

What can you do with old MagicBands?
If your MagicBands are still useable, all you need to do to reuse them is to make sure your new Walt Disney World theme park tickets and reservations are linked to the same My Disney Experience account that your MagicBands are on.
Does Disney sell original MagicBands?
The original MagicBands will still be available for purchase. Guests can use either a MagicBand, MagicBand+ or Disney MagicMobile to enter the park and use basic features.
