Can you use someone else's MagicBand at Disney World? Once a MagicBand+, MagicBand or card is linked to your Disney account, it cannot be transferred to another person for use at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Are MagicBands no longer free?

As of December 31, 2020, Magicbands will no longer be provided on a complimentary basis for anyone with check-in reservations. This news was a bit disappointing but not all is lost. You can still use MagicBands in the park and you can still purchase your MagicBand online or at select retail locations.

To make sure your band is linked correctly you can log in to your My Disney Experience App. To get there log in, and find the Magic Band option in the drop down menu. If you have a Magic Band from a previous trip that you would like to use, you can make sure that the band you have is still linked to your account.

If they are used they are useless. They can't be linked to another account once already linked. The only purpose would be if you wanted the band design, and then you'd still have to purchase a new band in order to get a new puck to switch out. You're better off just buying direct from Disney.
