Can you reactivate a MagicBand? If your MagicBand is currently deactivated, you'll just select the Activate button and it will be good to go.


Can I use a MagicBand from 2 years ago?

REUSE THEM If you've customized one of your bands or grown partial to a special edition band you purchased, you can reuse a band from a previous trip. Generally, the battery life of MagicBands is between 2-5 years, though the MagicBand+ may last longer because they are rechargeable.


Can I use my MagicBand to pay for food?

Depending on which features are activated for you, the MagicBand can function as your room key, resort entrance gate opener, park ticket, Lightning Lane redemption mechanism, charge card for food and merchandise, interactive game piece, PhotoPass identifier, and more.


Do MagicBands expire?

It is perfectly acceptable to reuse an old MagicBand on your next trip. The official word from Walt Disney World is that the battery life of a band is expected to be about 2 years. However, I personally have older ones that are still going strong! So, bring your MagicBands and try it!


Will a 5 year old MagicBand still work?

Just make sure they're active. One thing thats a slight bummer is cannot use them to buy points at resort arcades but thats life. They will work for purchases and tapping into rides. But they won't link the ride photos that don't have a touch point.


Are MagicBands worth it if staying off property?

If you're staying “off property” you can use a Magic Band as your park admission, to check in for Lightning Lanes, access the Disney World Virtual Queue, and for Photo Pass. You will NOT be able to charge purchases on your band, however.


How do I transfer my MagicBand to another person?

Once a MagicBand+, MagicBand or card is linked to your Disney account, it cannot be transferred to another person for use at the Walt Disney World Resort.
