Can you eat and drink on National Express coaches? We do not provide or sell refreshments on our coaches, but you are welcome to bring hot drinks (provided they are fitted with a safety lid to avoid spillage and you take care with them), cold non-alcoholic drinks and cold food. You are not permitted to bring any hot or strong smelling food.


Can you charge your phone on a coach bus?

Most charter buses in the United States come with 110V/220V power outlets. This means you can charge the most common devices such as phones, laptops, cameras, etc. If you are coming from a different country where the plugs and outlets are different than those of the U.S., you will need an adapter.


When should I arrive at National Express?

Aim to arrive at the coach station at least 10 minutes before you're due to depart - this helps your coach to keep to its scheduled timetable. Make sure you have your ticket to hand and that it is valid for the coach you want to travel on (most importantly, the right time and date!).

Yes, you may bring and eat cold food and drinks on board a bus (cold sandwiches, bottled water, candies...). For the comfort and safety of other passengers, hot food is not allowed on the bus. Note: Drinking alcohol is strictly forbidden on board.


Can you go to the toilet on a National Express coach?

Most services will not include a break as all our coaches are equipped with an on board toilet. However, on our longer journeys, especially overnight services and services between England and Scotland, we do provide rest breaks for our passengers.
