Can someone else use my National Trust membership card? Anyone using a membership to visit a National Trust place needs to be named on that membership – regardless of being an adult or a child.

A family day pass allows two adults and up to three children or one adult and up to four children to enter one of 500 National Trust sites on a one-time basis. You don't need a family to use the pass as you can use it alone or in a couple as well.

I have more than 10 children or grandchildren, can I include them? Yes, you can. You can either join online with details of 10 children and then call us later to add the details of the other children, or join at one of our places or over the phone when we'll take the details of all of the children.

No, children under 5 can continue to enjoy our places for free. However, if your child would like their own membership card and welcome pack, you can buy them junior membership as a gift.


How many cards do you get with National Trust family membership?

We were particular interested to see that grandchildren can also be included on family memberships too. To be eligible for this offer, children must be under 18 years. Once you join, the National Trust will issue you with 1 or 2 membership cards, (depending on whether you are applying for 1/2 adult family membership).


Does my National Trust membership automatically renew?

We will write to you shortly before the end of your membership year and supply you with a new membership card for the following year. You will be given the opportunity to tell us if you do not want to renew your membership for the following year.


Can you go to National Trust without a membership?

Please note: if you're not a National Trust member, you'll still need to pay for your own entry.


Can I use my National Trust membership without my card?

No. All our members have scannable cards and in order to gain entry to our places you need to show your membership card to a member of staff and at places with barcode scanners we will need to scan the card to count your entry.


Is St Michaels Mount free to National Trust members?

Tickets to the castle and/or garden still have to be purchased or booked with a valid National Trust membership and are subject to availability. A Mount Memories Pass provides free access to the castle and garden as well as the village and harbour.


Can you stay overnight in National Trust car parks?

Parking your campervan or motorhome Campervans that are used for travel are welcome in our car parks but aren't allowed to stay overnight. Unfortunately, we're unable to welcome caravans and coaches. Please be aware that many of our car parks are located on very narrow and sometimes steep roads.
