Can others use my Railcard?
Can others use my Railcard? No. The Railcard is for your use only, and provides discounts only on tickets bought for your own use. It does not cover anyone accompanying you.
Can friends and family use my Railcard?
Two adults can be named as cardholders on your Family & Friends Railcard. The two adults don't need to travel together but you do need to be travelling with at least one child between the ages of 5 and 15 to be eligible for the discount.
Can someone else use my Railcard?

Can I transfer a Railcard to another person?
To order the Railcard, click 'Buy Now' on the website homepage to get started. When you get to the question, Who is the Railcard being purchase for? select the option The Railcard is for someone else and follow the instructions on the screen to continue with your purchase.
What are the rules for friends and family railcard?
To use it, at least one of the group travelling must be named on the Railcard and there must also be at least one child travelling on a child rate ticket. The named Railcard holder must travel for the entire journey with any passengers who have been bought discounted tickets.
Are railcards only for UK residents?
You don't need to live in Britain or be a UK citizen to be eligible. However, they can only be posted to UK addresses. Buy in person at a staffed railway station (each railcard is different, so it is best to check beforehand with Railcard Help to see if there are any documents that you will need to bring with you).
Can I share my Railcard on Trainline?
The Railcard is associated to only the email address it was purchased under and it can be shown on the account holders Trainline App. The Railcard can not be shown on the other cardholders account, but we hope that doesn't matter as you both need to travel together anyway.
Do I need to bring my Railcard with me?
Yes! Your discounted ticket is not valid unless you bring your Railcard with you. Luckily if you buy online, you can add your Railcard to your digital wallet, so you won't forget it!
Do you need a photo for a Railcard?
Under 'Choose the type of Railcard you would like' you can select if you want a 'Digital' or a 'Plastic' Railcard. You will be asked to provide a digital passport-style photo if you select 'Digital'. You do not need a photo if you have ordered a 'Plastic' Network Railcard.
Can I book train ticket for my friend?
Yes, just like flights, you can book tickets for friends and family. Just remember, that while traveling the passenger must carry a valid photo identity proof.
Can you transfer a ticket to a different name?
No you cannot transfer a ticket to someone else. Tickets can only be used by the person whose name is on the ticket. If a passenger cannot fly be sure to cancel the ticket before time of departure. Many airlines will let you reuse the value of the ticket to book another reservation.
