Can you Scan a QR code from a screenshot or image? Yes, you can scan a QR code from a screenshot or image by downloading the google lens application. Launch the application and refer to the image. Select it then you can proceed to the results page.

What is the difference between a digital and physical Railcard?

Digital Railcards are stored within the Railcard app on your smart phone or tablet, meaning there's no need to carry the physical card around with you. They can be stored on up to two devices and used quicker than plastic Railcards as they do not need to be sent in the post.


Do all railcards need a photo?

Under 'Choose the type of Railcard you would like' you can select if you want a 'Digital' or a 'Plastic' Railcard. You will be asked to provide a digital passport-style photo if you select 'Digital'. You do not need a photo if you have ordered a 'Plastic' Network Railcard.


Can I add my Railcard to my contactless card?

You cannot. As of November 2022, contactless (bank cards or NFC devices) support only extends to a pay as you go model for a single adult fare with daily and weekly cap. For railcard discounts, student/young persons discounts, travelcards, season tickets, etc., a registered Oyster card is required.

You will need to click Manage my Railcard on the website homepage to log in to your account. Once logged in, click on 'Details' under your active digital 16-25 Railcard, then click on 'Manage Digital Devices' to request a new download code or manage the number of devices your Railcard is on.

No, please do not screenshot your e-ticket as the QR code may be blurred or not sufficiently accurate to scan.
