Can I spray WD40 on my brakes? Although WD-40 isn't a great lubricant, it does offer some lubrication. Putting ANYTHING lubricious on your brakes is a bad idea. WD-40 will evaporate off in a few days. If you can't wait that long, spray them down thoroughly with brake cleaner and let them dry.
