Can I smoke on Stena line? Our vessels have designated smoking areas on the external decks of the ship.


How early should I be for Stena Line?

Check in opens 2.5 hours before departure. Check-in for passengers travelling without a vehicle closes 60 minutes before the scheduled departure time and 90 minutes for passengers travelling with a vehicle.


What if I bring more than 200 cigarettes to UK?

If you go over your allowances you must declare all your goods and pay tax and duty on all the goods in that category. For example, if you bring in 200 cigarettes and 50 cigars, you must pay tax and duty on both the cigarettes and the cigars because you have gone over your allowance in the tobacco category.


Can you drink your own alcohol on Stena Line?

Alcohol cannot be brought onboard for consumption. A great selection of alcoholic drinks can be purchased in our outlets onboard. You can, of course, travel with alcholic beverages in your luggage or vehicle.

If you are caught smoking outside in a nonsmoking area, you will be asked to move to a smoking area. If caught smoking in your cabin or cabin balcony, you will be told to stop and charged a cleaning fee (typically $200 to $250). If you continue to break the rule, you may be forcibly removed from the ship.

Any violation of this policy will result in a $500 charge, per violation, posted on the guest's Sail & Sign® account and may also result in the disembarkation of all guests in the stateroom.
